With its history going back 60+ years, our mill has always been a highly regarded Collie institution. Its previous owner, George Saunders, built a reputation of excellence that has been passed onto the Malatesta family. Three generations of Malatestas now operate the business with a focus on the highest possible quality, attention to detail and your experience as our customer. We are joined by our team of local, trained staff who are equally committed to quality and good service.
We all appreciate the strength and durability of our beautiful Western Australian timbers. We work with Jarrah (Eucalyptus marginata), Marri (also known as Red Gum) (Corymbia calophylla) and Wandoo (also known as White Gum) (Eucalyptus wandoo). Malatesta and Sons Sawmill and Firewood is committed to sustainable forestry practices in accordance with current forestry standards. Our Jarrah and Marri is sourced solely from Western Australia’s sustainably managed forests or private land and we are a proud member of the Forest Industries Federation WA (FIFWA).
