Bergen Bil og Båtinteriør AS performs reupholstering of cars, boats, buses, caravans, motorcycles and furniture at its workshop in Åsane. The company carries out repair work and service on canopies, car interiors, furniture and other equipment. It works with established suppliers and maintains close cooperation with several foam and textile manufacturers, and collaborates with other craft businesses. In addition to in-house products, the company assists entrepreneurs with prototype development and series production. All employees hold journeyman certificates in a craft or have long experience in sewing and production. Saddlery is defined as one of the small and protected crafts; the company employs journeymen and a master craftsman in this trade. The master craftsman mark is used as a quality stamp. The company traces its roots to 1966 in Zorba AS, which has had continuous operation; Bergen Bil og Båtinteriør AS was established as a separate company in 2005 to continue the traditional saddlery activities, while Zorba continued to specialize in assistive devices. Since 2005 the company has trained three journeymen and two masters and is one of the few approved training companies in the saddlery trade.
