The Madison's Lumber Prices Index reached $522 per thousand board feet for the week ending 3 April 2026, a 1% increase from the previous week's level of $518. The index has climbed 6% from one month ago, when it stood at $491.
The index is constructed using the same species composition as lumber futures, including Western SPF, Eastern SPF, Douglas fir and Hem-Fir. Weights are based on North American production volume ratios averaged over recent years.
