Comact, a wood-processing equipment and technology supplier, has completed its acquisition of Checkmate Precision Cutting Tools, adding a manufacturer and service provider of cutting tools with operations in New Zealand and Australia, Comact announced.
The acquisition was announced on July 29. Checkmate manufactures and services bandsaws, circular saws and industrial knives and provides complete saw-shop solutions for wood-processing operations.
The business also provides saw filing, sharpening and maintenance services. Its operations serve customers in New Zealand and Australia.
Checkmate will become part of the Comact Cutting Solutions platform. The acquisition expands Comact’s cutting products, technical services and aftermarket operations in the region.
Checkmate is based in New Zealand and specializes in cutting tools and saw filing solutions for the wood-processing industry. Comact has operated in the wood-processing equipment business for more than 100 years.
