Madison's Lumber Prices Index for the week ending August 14, 2026, reached US$536 per thousand board feet, marking a 4% decrease of $22 from the previous week's US$558, according to Madison's Lumber Reporter.
The index also declined 2% or $12 from one month ago when it stood at US$548.
Madison's constructs the index using the same species as futures – Western Spruce-Pine-Fir, Eastern Spruce-Pine-Fir, Douglas fir, and Hem-Fir – with weighted averages based on North American production volume ratios over recent years.
