Magnus Hindström has been appointed as the new President and CEO of Honkarakenne Oyj, effective 3 August 2026. He joins the log house construction company from Metsä Wood, where he served as Vice President of Kerto LVL Sales responsible for international markets and Finland. The appointment was confirmed by Honkarakenne's Board of Directors.

Outgoing President and CEO Marko Saarelainen, who led the company for more than ten years starting in 2015, will continue as CEO of Honkarakenne's Japanese subsidiary, Honka Japan Inc. Saarelainen oversaw the company's development into an international operator in responsible wood construction during his tenure.

Hindström brings experience in company growth and transformation across domestic and international markets. Chairman of the Board Timo Kohtamäki cited Hindström's track record in building international business as valuable for accelerating export growth.

Honkarakenne Oyj manufactures log homes, holiday homes and public buildings from solid wood.
