Mercer International Inc. has announced that its German pulp mill, Mercer Rosenthal, will extend its maintenance shutdown from the originally scheduled two weeks to cover the entire month of September 2026.
The company is coordinating the undertaking with production, wood procurement, logistics, and pulp sales to manage the extended closure with customers and stakeholders.
Mercer Rosenthal produces 360,000 tonnes of kraft pulp (NBSK) annually for paper and tissue production, along with tall oil and lignin as additional wood-based products.
