CME lumber futures closed at $526.50 per thousand board feet on Friday, October 2, the lowest close since November 14, 2025, down $11.50, or 2.1% from the previous week's close. Daily turnover averaged 536 contracts, below the 12-week baseline of 757 contracts.

The contract turned higher early in the week and reached its high with Wednesday's $539.50 close. Thursday defined the week's slide with a $9 drop to $530.50, and Friday extended it for two straight days of declines.

Weekly turnover totaled 2,678 contracts. Thursday was the busiest session, with 740 contracts.

At $526.50, the contract was 14.5% lower than a year earlier, when it closed at $615.50.
