Setra Trävaror AB, a wholly owned subsidiary of Setra Group, has completed the sale of Malå Såg AB to HS Timber Group, finalising the transaction that was announced in October 2025, according to Setra Group. The operation now joins HS Timber Group's portfolio and will be operated under the name Malå Timber.
The sale aligns with Setra's strategy to focus and strengthen its position in Bergslagen in central Sweden, with the group now continuing to develop its core business in wood processing where it sees the greatest opportunities for long-term profitability.
Marcus Westdahl, President and CEO of Setra Group, stated that with a strong owner and the right expertise, they are convinced HS Timber Group will continue to develop the operation.
HS Timber Group, headquartered in Vienna, Austria, employs more than 3,000 people across nine production sites and supplies customers in 95 countries worldwide, while Setra Group remains one of Sweden's largest wood industries.
