Lenzing will install a complete debarking and chipping line at its pulp mill in Austria, according to the technology supplier Andritz.
The new line will process 400 m3/h of logs and includes a horizontally fed HHQ-Chipper with the TurnKnife system, combined with a frequency converter for optimum chipper revolving speed. A hydrostatically supported debarking drum is designed for dissolving pulp production, with log washing to remove loose silica.
The knife system minimizes wood losses and provides high chip quality, while the debarking drum ensures an excellent debarking degree for the production process.
The delivery includes a complete automation, electrification and instrumentation system, along with engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning. Startup is scheduled for the Q4 2027.
The order value was not disclosed, with the order recorded in Andritz's Q1 2026 intake.
