Madison's Lumber Prices Index for the week ending September 18, 2026, reached US$514 per thousand board feet, marking a 2% decrease of $11 from the previous week's US$525, according to Madison's Lumber Reporter.

The index also fell 1% or $7 from one month ago when it stood at US$521.

Madison's constructs the index using the same species as futures—Western Spruce-Pine-Fir, Eastern Spruce-Pine-Fir, Douglas fir, and Hem-Fir—with weighted averages based on North American production volume ratios over recent years.
