The Egger Group has acquired 100% of the shares in the Italian recycling company Lenocart S.r.l., based in the Milan metropolitan area, expanding its recycling network in Italy and strengthening access to recycled wood in one of the country's most important economic regions.
Lenocart has been a trusted business partner for many years, and the acquisition includes the company's transport fleet, supporting efficient collection and logistics processes, with the site currently collecting 10,000 tonnes of recycled wood per year to supply Egger's plant in Caorso, where the company manufactures particleboard from 100% recycled wood.
Giuseppe Conti, Plant Director of the Egger plant in Caorso and responsible for wood purchasing, stated that the Milan region offers significant potential for the collection of recycled wood, with the company aiming to further develop the business and contribute to a more circular use of resources.
The operative management of the Lenocart site will remain with Dario Lenoci, whose family founded the company in the 1950s, with Lenoci noting that Lenocart has grown over decades as a family business and that Egger shares the company's values and is committed to supporting long-term development. The acquisition forms part of Egger 's continuous expansion of recycling activities under the Timberpak brand, an international network of recycling collection sites where recycled wood is collected, sorted, and pre-shredded before transport to Egger plants for final processing.
