Madison's Lumber Prices Index for the week ending August 28, 2026, reached US$521 per thousand board feet, marking a 2% decrease of $9 from the previous week's US$530, according to Madison's Lumber Reporter.

The index also fell 7% or $37 from one month ago when it stood at US$558. Madison's constructs the index using the same species as futures – Western Spruce-Pine-Fir, Eastern Spruce-Pine-Fir, Douglas fir, and Hem-Fir – with weighted averages based on North American production volume ratios over recent years.
