Average prices increased across all roundwood assortments in Finland in June. Standing-sale pulpwood prices rose 5% from May, equal to an increase of at least Euro 1 per m3, according to Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke).
The average standing-sale price of spruce logs reached Euro 83.65 per m3, up 1% from May. Pine logs increased 2% to Euro 78.52 per m3, while birch logs rose 2% to Euro 64.39 per m3.
Standing-sale prices for all pulpwood assortments increased 5% during the month. Spruce pulpwood reached Euro 25.91 per m3, pine pulpwood Euro 23.73 per m3 and birch pulpwood Euro 24.48 per m3.
Delivery-sale pulpwood prices also increased. Birch pulpwood rose 4% to Euro 44.14 per m3, spruce pulpwood increased 2% to Euro 42.21 per m3 and pine pulpwood gained 3% to Euro 39.93 per m3.
Compared with the 2025 average, standing-sale prices were 3% lower for pine logs and birch logs, while spruce log prices were unchanged. Pine pulpwood prices were 24% lower, and spruce and birch pulpwood prices were each 22% lower.
Delivery-sale pulpwood prices also remained below the 2025 average. Pine pulpwood was 23% lower, spruce pulpwood was 21% lower and birch pulpwood was 15% lower.
Industrial roundwood purchases from private forests increased 11% from May in June. The volume was also 11% higher than a year earlier but remained 17% below the average for the previous five Junes.
Roundwood purchases from January through June were 21% lower than a year earlier and 18% below the previous five-year average. Compared with that average, log purchases were 18% lower and pulpwood purchases were 24% lower.
Purchase volumes of spruce logs and spruce pulpwood declined less than volumes for the other tree species.
