Setra reported an operating profit of SEK 15 million ($1.6 million) for the Q2 2026, a significant improvement from a loss of SEK 60 million ($6.3 million) in the same period last year, driven by falling timber prices and increased internal efficiency.
Net sales increased by 9% to SEK 1,579 million ($166 million) from SEK 1,442 million ($152 million) in the prior-year quarter. The operating margin improved to 0.9% from negative 4.5%. EBITDA was SEK 68 million ($7.2 million), compared with negative SEK 2 million a year earlier. The company reported a loss after tax of SEK 1 million, down from a loss of SEK 57 million ($6 million) in the Q2 2025.
The Building Solutions and Components business area is now seeing the results of production adjustments carried out during 2025 and reported a positive result for the period.
The company stated that the expected price increase for sawn wood products has failed to materialise due to continued uncertainty and weak economic conditions on the global market.
Setra is also working to manage the consequences of storm Johannes and to ensure that as much storm-felled timber as possible is salvaged and processed into wood products.
