Madison's Lumber Prices Index for the week ending August 21, 2026, reached US$530 per thousand board feet, marking a 1% decrease of $6 from the previous week's US$536, according to Madison's Lumber Reporter.
The index also fell 4% or $24 from one month ago when it stood at US$554, while remaining nearly flat compared to the same week last year.
Madison's constructs the index using the same species as futures – Western Spruce-Pine-Fir, Eastern Spruce-Pine-Fir, Douglas fir, and Hem-Fir – with weighted averages based on North American production volume ratios over recent years.
