The average price of productive forest land in Sweden reached 92,000 SEK per hectare in 2025, an increase of 4,500 SEK from 2024, according to the Swedish Forest Agency. Prices increased for the second consecutive year after declining in 2023. The 2025 average was just over 5% higher than in 2024.
Götaland had the highest average price at 144,500 SEK per hectare. Northern Norrland had the lowest, at 42,700 SEK per hectare. This regional pattern has remained consistent throughout the period covered by the statistics.
The difference between the regions has increased since 1999. In Götaland, the average price per hectare was 110,000 SEK higher in 2025 than in 1999. In Northern Norrland, it was 33,000 SEK higher.
The largest number of purchases took place in Götaland, followed by Svealand. Southern Norrland recorded the fewest purchases.
Smaller properties had higher prices per hectare. The average price was 124,400 SEK per hectare for properties of 1–5 hectares, compared with 49,900 SEK per hectare for properties larger than 100 hectares.
