Valmet has initiated the recruitment process for Riekkola's successor immediately, following his announced departure effective January 22, 2027.
Riekkola joined Valmet's Executive Leadership Team in 2018 and has led the Pulp, Energy and Circularity business area since July 2025.
Valmet has announced that Sami Riekkola, Executive Vice President of the Pulp, Energy and Circularity business area and a member of Valmet's Executive Leadership Team, has decided to leave the company to pursue an opportunity outside Valmet. His last day at Valmet will be January 22, 2027, at the latest.
The recruitment process for his successor will be initiated immediately.
Riekkola has been a member of Valmet's Executive Leadership Team since 2018 and has led the Pulp, Energy and Circularity business area since July 2025, having previously led Valmet's Pulp and Energy business line and served as President of Valmet's Automation Systems business line between 2018 and 2022.
