International Paper has completed the $360 million acquisition of North Pacific Paper Company, which operates a paper mill in Longview, Washington, adding a Longview-based producer of lightweight recycled packaging papers to its packaging solutions business and expanding its ability to supply West Coast customers, according to International Paper.

NORPAC has operated for about half a century and produces environmentally sustainable lightweight recycled packaging papers. The company will remain based in Longview and will continue its role as an employer and community partner in the local area.

The acquisition is part of International Paper's strategic transformation to maximize value for customers, employees and shareholders. The transaction expands the company's capabilities to support demand for lightweight high-performance packaging grades and increases system flexibility to improve service on the U.S. West Coast.

NORPAC was a portfolio company of One Rock Capital Partners prior to the sale.
